Always Check the Label
It's Fair to Say There's Nothing New about Labels. We See them Every Day.
Labels are there to help us make an informed decision. In the case of food labels, they tell us how much fat, salt and calories we're about to devour. While white goods such as washing machines feature labels that allow us to compare how energy efficient different models are.
It's hardly surprising then, that as of November 2012 labels on tyres will be made compulsory - great news if you ask us!
Working hard to change tyre retailing
Let's be honest, the automotive industry doesn't exactly have the best reputation. That's why we're working tirelessly at HiQ to change the industry for the better, to provide 'fast fit you can be sure of'.
It's why we think tyre labelling is so important.
We believe the introduction of tyre labels provides a great opportunity to build trust in the industry. You may have recently seen or read that retail guru Mary Portas has launched a customer service campaign encouraging UK consumers to demand higher levels of customer service - and we're right behind her. Why should you be baffled by meaningless jargon? Or told what's best for you based on assumptions alone. You deserve better than that. We all do.
Here's where Tyre Labelling and HiQ Comes in
Out goes the jargon, in comes easy to understand labels at a glance. We believe that a great shopping experience is much like a conversation. First we listen to what you need and then find out what you want. Then we recommend a tyre that's right for you using honest, down to earth language. Sounds like common sense to us. That's why we never adopt a one-size-fits-all approach at HiQ. To ensure we truly understand how our customers feel, we recently commissioned a OnePoll research study which spoke to 2,000 motorists*.
- 87.75% of people are unaware tyre labelling is coming into effect.
- 66.65% would feel more confident about tyre purchasing if clearly told the benefits at the point of sale.
- 66.25% find shopping at a garage or tyre dealer and untrustworthy experience.
- 55.95% would consider tyre labelling useful when buying tyres.
- Only 39.65% put safety first as a concern when buying tyres.
- 29.85% decide what tyres to buy in-store or at the garage.
