A Reading youngster who barely knew one end of a car from the other is now celebrating after qualifying to become a tyre fitter with one of the UK's largest fast fit networks.
Alex Whitney, aged 18, has spent more than 2 years studying and training to gain his automotive NVQs and is now a fully qualified as a technician with HiQ in Caversham Road, Reading.

Yorkshire motorists are being invited to celebrate the official unveiling of one of the UK's most futuristic fast fit centres at an action packed open-day in Leeds on Sunday 28th February.
HiQ Leeds, in Gelderd Road, will commemorate its £2 million, state-of-the-art redevelopment from 10am to 4pm on the 28th and is encouraging drivers to drop by as the centre is re-launched.

Participating HiQ centres will be penning love poems on the side of every tyre or windscreen to coincide with Valentine's Day, as technicians prepare to get loved up.
