When it comes to the environment, HiQ believes in action as well as words and our commitment manifests itself in many ways. For example, we find safe, creative ways to re-use all the tyres removed from vehicles at our network of centres including re-treading which can double the life of tyres. We are currently working in partnership with other organisations to identify and develop processes which can be used to recycle tyres and other disposable vehicle parts effectively and with minimum impact on the environment.
HiQ Nottingham leads the way.
HiQ's brand new centre at Nottingham is a flagship store with aims to be the model of excellence for the entire network and to support this objective a number of environmentally friendly initiatives have been put in place.
The forecourt surface at Nottingham is produced entirely out of recycled tyres. This non-toxic and odour free surface is also impact resistance for safety and provides additional sound insulation thus helping to reduce another environmental pollutant - noise. The centre will also be using in-store stationery items and merchandising including mouse mats, pens and note pads produced from tyres and other recyclable car parts.
