Rugby Ready
Rugby Ready is a programme developed by the International Rugby Board and run by the RFU's in association with Sport England and Goodyear tyres. The programme supports coaches, referees, players and Unions by providing best practice models for physical conditioning, injury prevention and injury management.
Time for Franchisees to try, try and try again
As a preferred partner of Goodyear tyres, HiQ will be working in conjunction with the Rugby Ready programme throughout the year. We'll be starting by executing a tyre check programme at local rugby clubs across the country.
This will involve carrying out a number of tyre checks while rugby matches are taking place. We'll be educating drivers about the legal tread depth of tyres before using state-of-the-art portable testing equipment to determine if tyres are legal.

Bromsgrove rugby players tread with care
A HiQ centre in Bromsgrove converted local rugby players into tyre experts, after scrumming down for their first safety check. HiQ made the trip to Bromsgrove Rugby Club, where technicians were on hand to test all suporters' and players' car tyres, in a bid to raise safety and awareness on and off the Rugby field.
The tyre checks were the first to be carried out by HiQ, on behalf of Goodyear, as part of the partnership of Goodyear's and Rugby Union's Rugby Ready Programme.
HiQ Bromsgrove franchisee David Geiss said: "The tyre checks were a great success. We are able to educate drivers about the legal tread depths of tyres, by using state-of-the-art portable tyre testing equipment to determine if any tyres were illegal. We tested dozens of cars on the day, and it was a valuable exercise for HiQ, as we bid to educate motorists nationwide about tyre safety. Bromsgrove motorists have already set an impressive standard, as every car tyre we tested passed the required tread-depth."
Working with Goodyear, HiQ will be performing free tyre safety checks at rugby clubs across the country, whilst also setting up some unique discounts and promotions for rugby clubs via their local HiQ centres.
