A Ludlow car tyre specialist has been given a new lease of life following a six-figure investment to enhance its equipment and facilities.
HiQ Ludlow, which was formerly Ian Jones Tyres, was taken by franchisees Darren Sambrooks and Mohammed Suleman after they invested in excess of £100,000 in to the branch to give it a dramatic new look.
Having formerly specialised in tyre maintenance and repair, the centre now also offers customers a full MOT service following the investment in new state-of-the-art electronic equipment, including the installation of a new scissor-lift MOT ramp, worth £20,000.
As well as improving the Old Street site, the duo have also invested in providing customers with an increased level of confidence by installing a viewing bay in the new reception area and providing electronic results of the tests undertaken.
Sambrooks said: “The branch had previously been trading for 14 years without much maintenance; when we took over, the centre was a rundown shack. We’ve demolished it and have had the interiors cladded, a new roof installed and built a brand new reception area to give customers a sense of confidence.
“We’ve also taken away the mystery of what goes on behind the doors of a garage. Customers can use the reception area to take a look at the work that is going on and see for themselves how professional our team is and be sure that a proper job is being done.”
The site is the third across the country to be opened to the duo, who have already began to see an increase in business since the switch to HiQ.
Sambrooks added: “We’ve been able to grow much quicker now that we have been able to diversify and offer more than just a tyre service. For years, drivers have had to rely on the integrity of their mechanic, but we now have software that can print out results from every step of the MOT journey. It makes it easy for them to understand what we do.”
