A self proclaimed 'basic Basingstoke housewife' will be transformed into a glamorous grid girl for the day with us all at HiQ, after winning our grid girl competition.

Mother-of- three Beverley Edwards was chosen as our official HiQ's Pink Grid Girl following an intense online vote, meaning she will line up on the famous Silverstone circuit with the Team Aon team, representing one of their three drivers on the day.

We launched the competition alongside Team Aon to take its charity partnership with Breast Cancer Care up a gear, as it attempts to hit the £100,000 mark for the charity.

The 39 year-old will now don the iconic HiQ pink grid suit as the face of HiQ's fundraising at Silverstone, which include free caps and merchandise giveaways in return for donations and a competition to win a commemorative BTCC book featuring driver portraits, in conjunction with Girlracer Magazine.

Beverley, from Tadley, said: "I can't believe I have won! I am just your basic housewife! I'm vertically challenged and too 'full figured' to ever be a model, so I will love my time to shine, for all the real women out there.

"I just thought it would be fun to enter, so to win outright is staggering. I am one of the lucky few people not to have been directly affected by breast cancer but I know a lot of people that have been, so it means a great deal to be a grid girl for such a worthy charity.

After her grid appearance at Silverstone, Beverley will also be treated to a spa break as part of the prize.

She added: "My husband Nick won't know what to make of this! Neither will my three children Ryan, Charlotte and Bradley.

"I can't wait for the weekend now!"

Marketing manager Geraldine McGovern told HiQ online: "Well done Beverley! Our grid girl experience is aimed at being a bit of fun, while raising our pink presence at the circuit, where we are hope to generate as much money as possible for Breast Cancer Care.

"It is a charity extremely close to our hearts and with Beverley's help, we may get a few more pennies in the coffers over the weekend. We can't wait to meet her."

Beverley Edwards has received hundreds of votes to be crowned as HiQ's official grid girl at Silverstone
