It was a case of hair today, gone tomorrow for a brave Dorchester fast fitter, who is recovering after his head was shaved and his body waxed for Breast Cancer Care.

Steven Hadley from HiQ Dorchester on Poundbury Road went through a hair raising experience on Saturday morning (30th) when he dyed his locks pink before having it all taken off for charity.

In a month of pink activities for the HiQ fast fit network, Steven's painful decision to bare all boosted the total sum raised by £735 smashing the centre's target of £275.

HiQ Dorchester's centre manager Rob Bessant said: "I really wanted to encourage fundraising within our centre and back the network's push to raise £100,000 particularly after my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year.

"I experienced first hand how far money can go for treatment so I'm over the moon to have raised £735. I'm just glad it was Steven rather than me!"

HiQ marketing manager Geraldine McGovern said: "This is definitely the most outrageous thing any HiQ centre has done to raise money.

"I'm sure it was quite a spectacle. Well done Steven and the Dorchester team."
