A fast fit centre in Helston has beaten 150 outlets across the UK to be crowned HiQ's fundraising centre of the year, after raising £600 for Breast Cancer Care.

HiQ Helston was awarded the accolade at the network's national franchise conference, praising franchisee Justin Roberton and the team for their commitment to its fundraising month 'project pink.'

Throughout October, HiQ tasked each one of its 150 centres to raise £275 for the charity to boost their overall target of £100,000 and HiQ Helston more than doubled their goal through a number of fundraising initiatives.

A fancy dress car wash took place at the centre on Clodgey Lane with staff from Justin's HiQ Bodmin giving a helping hand to raise money. A successful disco and charity raffle was also set up at the Garrison social club as well as in-store collection buckets.

Justin said: "To be recognised for our fundraising achievements is a huge honour. Stuart Harris and the team at Helston are really chuffed with the award and it is with thanks to them and the donating public that we managed to raise £600.

HiQ's marketing manager Geraldine McGovern said: "Justin and the team went far and beyond the expected for project pink.

"Raising such a credible amount of money in just four weeks really highlights the team's willingness to support our chosen charity of 2010, Breast Cancer Care. Fantastic."

The Helston team were also congratulated for their continued commitment and support of Breast Cancer Care, as influential individuals raising money and awareness throughout the year.
