HiQ’s retail team Jamie, Nichola and Peter took on the midlands Tough Mudder Challenge on the 30th of May to raise money for HiQ’s charity partner, Breast Cancer Care. The 12 mile run saw the team face giant 15 foot obstacles, miles of mud and a lot of water. Highlights amongst the 24 obstacles include ‘Arctic Enema’ in which the team were dunked into ice cold water and “Electroshock Therapy” which put a spring in their step after taking 10,000 volt shocks. Ouch! The whole team successfully overcame everything Tough Mudder could throw at them completing the course in just over 4 hours. All that for an orange head band.
A big congratulations to Jamie, Nichola and Peter for their heroics in taking on Tough Mudder, and thank you to everyone who donated and sponsored, raising a total of £720, taking HiQ that little bit closer to the £120,000 target.
Here’s what Peter Henson said about the event,
“What a tiring but fantastic day! I can honestly say it was the toughest event I have ever done. The hardest obstacle for me was definitely the ‘Electroshock Therapy’, we had to charge through a series of wires all charged with 10,000 volts and the only way I can describe is it felt like getting punched in the chest by a heavyweight boxer! The feeling of finally getting across the finish line was overwhelming, and to finish with Jamie and Nichola provided a real sense of achievement. I’d like to personally thank every one who sponsored my self and the team. Who know’s, maybe I’ll be back next year”
