New HiQ Tyres & Autocare centre opens in Hockley as national franchise backs local investment

Five new jobs created as HiQ Tyres & Autocare backs local entrepreneur with new autocare centre

A brand new HiQ Tyres & Autocare centre has opened in Hockley, bringing a nationally backed autocare centre to the Essex town for the very first time.

The new site, situated on Eldon Way, Hockley, is within easy walking distance of all the major shops in the centre of town, and is operated by local entrepreneur and experienced garage director Shaz Ahmed who has run successful independent vehicle workshops in East London for more than three decades.

The Hockley centre is Ahmed's first centre to open as part of the HiQ Tyres & Autocare network, with four further Essex franchises already planned as part of a wider regional expansion.

The state-of-the-art centre in Hockley offers local drivers a full suite of services including MOT testing, vehicle servicing, tyre fitting and best-in-market Hunter Engineering wheel alignment. Every element of the workshop is brand new and equipped with the latest technology and tooling, including three service ramps and an MOT bay.

Ahmed explains that joining the HiQ Tyres & Autocare network marks the beginning of a new chapter for his business: “I have spent 30 years running independent garages, but the time felt right to now partner with a national brand. The Hockley site has created five new jobs, including the appointment of a Centre Manager, Paige Shaw, and a team of fully qualified technicians. This has ensured strength and technical capability within the new workshop from day one.
