Regular oil and filter services keep your engine clean, running smoothly, performing well helping to reduce your fuel consumption.

It’s very important that your car has a regular oil service. Oil is the lubricant in your engine which prevents friction and protects the mechanical components. Over time engine oil gradually loses this ability to lubricate effectively and low, thin or old oil causes the internal components to wear much faster. To prevent this, manufacturers and car experts recommend that your oil is changed every 12 months, or a little less for higher mileage vehicles.

Your vehicle’s engine requires the correct grade of oil in order to lubricate and protect the internal parts. The grade of oil for your vehicle is determined by the vehicle manufacturer based on many factors, like size and operating temperature range of the engine. At HiQ our highly experienced teams can advise you on the best oil and care for your engine and we stock most oils at all of our centres.

WHY CHANGE THE OIL FILTER?

Your car’s oil filter is an integral part of the engine, cleverly carrying away dirt and metal particles. These contaminants are removed from the oil by the oil filter and over time this debris can block the filter, so it’s important that it’s replaced on a regular basis.
