A cambelt or timing belt is a vital component of your vehicle’s engine that keeps essential parts within your engine working in-sync, including the camshaft and the crankshaft. The camshaft is responsible for controlling the valves that let fuel and air in and out of your engine. At the same time as this, the crankshaft is moving the pistons up and down.
A timing belt keeps these motions aligned as intended. Any slight disruption between the sync of these components can be disastrous for your engine, causing damage to your car’s vales, pistons, or other engine parts - extending the damage. Therefore, it’s important to keep on top of cambelt maintenance and replace this vital part when recommended.
