Audi A4 star Rob Austin has secured a HiQ hat-trick by winning the brand’s latest champagne moment award for the third time of his Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship career.
The Evesham speedster underlined his status as a fans’ favourite and one of the most talented drivers on the grid with a landslide win in HiQ’s latest poll, which attracted more than 500 votes â" the highest of the season.
Austin polled a whopping 71 per cent of all votes, with Andy Neate second (15 per cent) and Jason Plato third (nine per cent).
Rob might have to make room on his sideboard for the champagne, after scooping bottles for his performances at Rockingham and Silverstone in 2011.
Winning fan John Miles from Bradford was picked at random to present the bottle of champagne to Rob and he now wins a pair of weekend passes to Snetterton, along with a bottle of bubbly for himself and a grid walk.
He said: “Rob’s battles the Hondas were the highlight of my weekend and the main reason for him receiving my vote.
“He has had mechanical issues in the past but he has shown what a talent he is to bounce back and what speed the Audi A4 possesses.”
HiQ’s marketing manager Geraldine McGovern said: “Rob has always shown charm, charisma off the track and an abundance of talent on it.
“He’s certainly Mr Popular amongst BTCC supporters and we are delighted that he’s won our latest champagne moment, which is thoroughly well deserved.”
