Rob Austin, one of the fans favourites across the drivers of the BTCC and an official blogger for HiQ, took time out from the track for a question and answers session with Dunlop ahead of the Snetterton round.

Rob is known for his strong character and thanks to the modern accessibility of Twitter, fans took this opportunity to pick his brain with delight. Question’s ranging from favourite tracks to a job application reflects the strong passion of BTCC fans and their interest in Rob. Here are some of HiQ’s top picks from the Q&A session:

Question: Who is the best driver to race against in BTCC (and the worst)?      

Answer: Best: had some great races with Jason Plato but as for the worst... no comment!

 

Question: What's it like sat on the start grid waiting for the lights to change?  

 Answer: In a bubble, all you can see is the lights.

 

Question: To Rob Austin how did you get in to BTCC?                                   

Answer: Running cars for many years, when the NGTC rules came about it was the perfect opportunity to step up as a team.

 

Question: Do you need staff, and can I get an application form?                    

Answer: Actually we're on the hunt for a mechanic currently. Email media@robaustin.com

 

Question: What's your favourite circuit on the calendar? What circuit would you like to see on the calendar?                                                                                  

 Answer: Thruxton is my favourite and I would add Spa if we could go abroad. Hint hint         

 

Question: You have a lot of fans outside the UK supporting your Audi effort in the BTCC. Any words for them?                                                                        

 Answer: I appreciate all my fans and all the support I get, it is humbling.
