After much deliberating, cogitating and digesting, the shortlist for HiQ's national grid girl competition can now be revealed.

Launched in July, the company received an overwhelming response from grid girl wannabes all over the country wanting to don the iconic pink race suit and represent Team Aon at the last round of the British Touring Car Championship at Silverstone on October 16.

Of the final ten, one lucky winner will get the chance to showcase Tom Chilton's race car in front of live ITV cameras, while representing HiQ and their charity partner, Breast Cancer Care.

The overall winner will also receive complimentary vouchers for a luxury spa break.

The final ten are:
1. Polly May Mewse

2. Laura Haynes

3. Lauren Hadley

4. Koren Wright

5. Rachael Patterson

6. Alexandra Doggarts

7. Amy Jackson

8. Beverley Edwards

9. Emma Coates

10. Louise Sumpter

National fast fit network, HiQ's marketing manager, Geraldine McGovern, said: "It is the second time we have launched this competition after it was so successful in 2009.

"We have been overwhelmed with entries and it was a tough decision shortlisting the final ten as many share a genuine love for the British Touring Car Championships and have been affected, in some way, by breast cancer.

"The aim of the competition is to raise awareness of our partnership with Breast Cancer Care and our fundraising programme project pink and it's great to see so many entrants wanting to be involved in this.

"Good luck to all those that made it into the shortlist, it's going to be extremely hard picking a winner."

The HiQ Pink Grid Girl competition will coincide with a huge fundraising drive at Silverstone on October 15 and 16, where giant foam spanners, pink hats and novelty headwear will be given away in return for donations to Breast Cancer Care.

Voting is now open to vote for your favourite grid girl before the details of the winner will be published October 17.
