If it is free fuel that motorists are after, then the HiQ fast fit network is the place to visit after a number of centres agreed to give away £10 vouchers with every sale of a Goodyear EfficientGrip tyre.

Centres in Carterton, Banbury, Abingdon, Evesham, Stratford, Gloucester, Worcester, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Bletchley and Aylesbury are all giving away the petrol to drivers, whenever an environmentally friendly EfficientGrip tyre is fitted.

The giveaways are taking place to coincide with a free fuel giveaway in Chipping Norton today, where Goodyear is giving away petrol at the Jet garage's pumps in London Road.

The garage is the fourth in the UK to offer the free £20 top-ups and HiQ is not only backing the unprecedented promotion, but is also doing its bit to ease the load on motorists' wallets in the build up to Christmas.

HiQ's marketing manager Geraldine McGovern said: "Eleven of our centres are offering free fuel vouchers for use at a nearby Sainsbury's station, whenever they purchase a Goodyear EfficientGrip tyre.

"Not only does the tyre reduce CO2 emissions that a car emits, but it helps save motorists as much as 1 litre of fuel in every tank. The HiQ network firmly endorses the product and is giving away free fuel vouchers as an incentive."

Drivers have been flocking to the Jet forecourt in Chipping Norton from 7.30am to 9.30am this morning, while more will be making the journey tonight from 5pm to 7pm.

Goodyear's brand manager Michelle Fisher said: "The campaign is designed to educate motorists on the benefits of fitting EfficientGrip tyres to their car. They can save financially as well as helping the environment.

"Once fitted, our EfficientGrip tyres could be saving motorists as much as 1 litre of fuel in every tank - this is because the tyre uses a new generation of tread compound, which lowers the amount of energy needed to make the tyre roll. This lower rolling resistance causes a lower rate of fuel consumption, reducing the emissions a car emits."
