Motorists who have performed heroic rescues or shown remarkable acts of compassion are set to be honoured by the HiQ fast fit network, in a kind hearted new online campaign.
HiQ's Highway Hero initiative will aim to discover the most selfless of drivers across the UK, who go the extra mile for their fellow road users.
Launched through Facebook, HiQ has created a Highway Hero Like page, which will raise awareness of those who have given roadside assistance to a motorist.
The selfless deeds could include changing a flat tyre, helping with a broken down vehicle or being first to help at the scene of a serious incident.
Spot prizes will be awarded to nominees and voters throughout the campaign and the person named HiQ's highway hero will receive a prize worth £1000.
HiQ's retail director Peter Tye said: "As a fast fit network, we pride ourselves in our ability to deliver a fast fit service you can be sure of. We position ourselves within UK communities as a fast fit you can trust, who you can count on each and every time you visit.
"Through Highway Hero, we want to congratulate those selfless individuals who have helped someone out of a sticky roadside situation, and give them something back for their efforts.
"Judging by the number of roadside accidents and breakdowns there are every day, we are certain there are hundreds of people worthy of being named a highway hero, and we hope to see nominations of all kinds posted on our Facebook page."
